Spencer,
I think you are well on your way heading in the right direction. The improvements are drastic and the website usability seems much improved.

Couple of things I would do:
First, I like the header. However, it is a bit too large. I’d resize the logo or maybe try moving the treasure chest to the left of the text and get that area a bit smaller.

Next, you need to go a little further in enticing people to participate in the blog. Make those comment links stand out more, maybe using some sort of icon or something or just making the text stand out.

Other than that, I think you have a very professional, easy to use blog.
